Ilah Van Dine Funeral Held, Winnemucca, Oct 21, 1949:
Final rites were held for Mrs. Ilah Van Dine, 48, Thursday afternoon at the Eddy Mortuary in Winnemucca with the Rev George McCollum, St Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating. Pallbearers selected were Ted Parry, Charlie Stevens, C A Sherman of Winnemucca, Adam Rose, Dick Mercer, Lovelock, and Henry Thacker, Imlay. Appropriate musical selections were played on the chapel console. Burial followed in the Lovelock cemetery.
Mrs. Van Dine died suddenly Tuesday morning in the Humboldt hospital following a four-day illness. She had served as a practical nurse in the hospital for the last three and a half years. Native of Lovelock, she was born Dec 26, 1900. After her marriage to the late Fred Van Dine in California, the couple settled in Winnemucca about ten years ago. Survivors include three sons, Fred Van Dine, Jr.; Long Beach, Calif., Joe Hawkins, Reno, and Rodney Fields, Winnemucca; two daughters, Mrs. Wilton Gumm, North Bend, Ore., and Mrs. Ben Mitchem, Long Beach, Calif, three brothers, Clifford, Clayton and Cecil Campbell of Imlay and a sister Mrs. Earl Pitt of Winnemucca.
