MRS. NORMA A. OLSON

Norma Anne Godfrey Jones Olson, 77, of Winnemucca, died Dec. 31, 2007, at Humboldt General Hospital. Norma was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Malta, Mont., to John and Dorothy (Salsbery) Godfrey. She attended a one-room school in Freewater, Mont., and high school in Malta. She married Fred Jones in 1946 and they had five children. They divorced and Norma then married Martin Olson in 1982. She has resided in Winnemucca for the past seven years, coming from Sandpoint, Idaho, where she lived from 1978 to 2000. Prior to that she had lived in Sacramento, Calif., from 1962-1978.

Norma is survived by her Husband: Martin of Winnemucca. Sons: John R. Jones and wife Darlene of Elko, Dale G. Jones of Roseburg, Ore. Daughters: Mary Lynn Jones and companion Charles Irwin of Willow, AK., Jaccque J. Jones and companion Butch Cissney of Redding, Calif, and Debra R. Merriweather and husband David of Boise, Idaho. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A graveside service was held Jan. 3, 2008, at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Winnemucca Senior Center, 1480 Lay St., Winnemucca, NV. 89445, in memory of Norma Olson. Albertson Funeral Home cared for the arrangements.

MR. FERRELL W. OWENS

Ferrell William Owens, born 1934; died 2007.

A memorial service for Ferreil William Owens, 73 of Trinity, Ala., was held Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bob Lawrimore and Teddy Owens officiating.

Mr. Owens died on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton, Ala., and was born July 4, 1934, in Lawrence County to Theo Richard Owens and Audrey Lindy Terry Owens.

He retired as the owner of Owens Ford-Mercury in Winnemucca; he also served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Decatur, Ala.

Ferrell was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Phillip and James and is survived by his brother Teddy, his nephew Heath Bynum, several aunts and uncles and a special friend, Jean Sherrill of Moulton, Ala.
