MRS. EMMA MAE KAYLER
Emma Mae "Kayler," age 73, sadly passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the Erie, Pa., Hospital.
She was born in Strattanvile, Pa., on March 13, 1934, to John and Viola Vanbuskirk.
She is survived by her five children, Walter Kayler Jr. aka Butch; James Kayler aka Jim; Cynthia Kayler aka Cindy married to Dave Buford; Mary Kayler married to John Unger; John Kayler aka Johnnie married to Paula. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and also Emma's sister Millie Fitzpatrick and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter Kayler, daughter Deborah Kayler and sadly many more.
Services for Emma Kayler are pending. For Emma's family and for people who knew and loved her, the loss of this wonderful person is tragic.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother may Emma's loving memory forever stay and live on in our hearts and mind.

MRS. NORMA J. KELLEHER
Norma Jean Kelleher of Winnemucca died at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Reno on Dec. 13, 2007.
She was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Schnectady, N.Y., to Norman and Jane West. She attended all 12 grades of school in Galaway, N.Y.
She married Ranny J. Kelleher in Elko on Jan. 6, 1977. They moved to Winnemucca in 1990. She worked for Winners Casino for eight years before her death. She was also an assistant general manager for Mr. B’s casino in Imlay.
She is survived by her husband Ranny Kelleher of Winnemucca, daughter and son-inlaw Nycole and Jason Miller of Gillette, Wyo., and daughter Brittany Kelleher of Winnemucca. She also had two step children, Ronny Kelleher of Great Falls, Mont., and Brandi Ninez of Nashua, N.H. She has three grandchildren, Andrew Crenshaw, Sierra Miller and Jason Miller Jr., all of Gillette, Wyo. She also has a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Dawn West of Winnemucca, and four sisters that live in Wyoming, Montana and New York. She also has several nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma, and her life centered around her family.
Before her illness she enjoyed outdoor recreations, yard work, craft shows and decorating her house.
Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at 5 p.m. at Albertson Funeral Home. A dinner will follow at Las Margaritas.
MRS. FERN E. KELLEY
Fern E. Kelley, 92, went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2008, in Yuma, Ariz. She was born April 7, 1915, on a farm near Maskell, Neb., and graduated from high school in 1932. She married Melvin (Ray) Kelley in 1939. They had one child, Linda Rae. Fern graduated from Wayne State Teachers College with a BA in Education, her love of children and young people inspired a 33-year career as a teacher. She retired to Wayne, Neb., and in 2000 joined her daughter and son-in-law in Nevada, followed by a move to Yuma with them in 2005.
Fern's memory will be cherished by her family, including her daughter, Linda Small; three grandchildren; six great-grand-children and one great-great grandchild; two sisters and two brothers, Vi Curry of Monroe, Wash., Ken and Dottie Beyeler of Cody, Wyo., Dorothy & Arland Aurich of Wayne, Neb., and Bob and Bev Beyeler of Yuma, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed as she touched many lives through her teaching career, church activities and one of her favorite hobbies, aqua-size. A memorial will be held at her daughter's home in Yuma on Thursday, March 20, at 6 p.m. Please call Linda at 341-0053 for directions. Sunset Vista Mortuary is in charge of arrangements and internment will be in Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband.

MR. DAVID E. KERR
David Eugene Kerr, 52, disappeared April 5, 2008, while doing what he loved, fishing on Rye Patch Reservoir and was discovered and pronounced dead April 26, 2008.
He was born in Lakeport, Calif., April 17, 1955, to Kenneth and Billie Kerr. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Kerr. He is survived by his mother, Billie Kerr, wife Sandra Kerr, daughter Shawna Honea and her husband Jacob Honea and their two daughters, Taylor and Ashlyn, Dave's only two grandchildren, his sister Charlotte Meekley and his two brothers, Paul and Jim Kerr and all Of their children and grandchildren.
After serving four years in the United States Naval Forces, Dave settled in Humboldt County in 1979 and started his family. During the 22 years he spent in Winnemucca he served as a Platoon Sergeant in the Nevada National Guard, was a dedicated member of the Winnemucca Rural Fire Department and also ran a successful welding business, Kerr Iron Works.
In 2001 Dave moved to Reno and spent the final eight years of his life running a concrete and awning business with his daughter, Shawna and son-in-law, Jacob. Dave's biggest loves in his life were his family, friends, co-workers and the outdoors. He took everyone fishing, hunting, camping and four-wheeling and was able to instill his love of Nevada's wildlife into the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. Dave never stopped working or playing and his spirit will live on in his family and friends with the trips they will take to his favorite fishing and camping spots.
A memorial service will be held in Winnemucca at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at the Winnemucca Christian Fellowship (4380 Grass Valley Road), followed by a graveside service and reception at The Martin Hotel.
MR. JOSEPH R. KERSCER
Joseph R. Kerscher, 76, a 55-year resident of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008, in the comforting presence of his family from cancer.
Joe was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Salt Lake City to Elijah and Pancha Claretta Broadhead. He attended grades 1-9 in Salt Lake City. At that time, he was adopted by Jack and Marie Kerscher and moved to Winnemucca. Following his 1950 graduation from Winnemucca High School, Joe joined the U.S. Navy where he achieved the rank of Electrician Mate 2/C. He was a veteran of the Korean War and during his four years in naval service served in Alaska, Hawaii, Japan and China.
He met Jane Bowman Kerscher in 1952 and thev married on Feb. 27, 1954, in Winnemucca. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Joe and Jane made their home in Blackfoot, where they lived and were married for 54 years.
Joe began his 33-year career working at the site where he became a Senior Nuclear Operations Engineer. During these years, Joe's love of education led him to receive a bachelor's degree in business engineering. Joe was a lifetime member of the Blackfoot Elks Club No. 1416. He was also a 20-year member of Toastmaster's International where he served as Area Governor and District Governor.
Joe's greatest joy was his wife and three girls. Joe enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Kerscher; daughters, Terri Kerscher (Peter Doss, fiance) of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Joni Rose (J Verio) and Patti Allen (Rick) of Blackfoot; and eight grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Pancha Claretta Broadhead and Jack and Marie Kerscher, brother Ronald Elijah "Mike" Broad-head; and sisters, Pancha Clair "Sue" Black and Ellen Ilene "Sally" Chaffin.
A memorial service was held April 17, 2008, at Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Donations can be made to Primary Children's Hospital.
MRS. JANET KNEIP
Janet Kniep passed away in her home on Aug. 9, 2007. She was born in Elmhurst, N.Y., on June 17, 1932, the youngest of seven children born to Charles and Mary McWilliams.
Janet was educated in New York, and went to work for the City of New York teaching sports and pre-school. In her youth, Jan was an avid roller skater — she won the New York State Pairs Championship and finished second in the U.S. Singles Championship.
Jan moved to Idaho in her twenties, where she taught roller skating in Twin Falls, Idaho, after turning professional. While in Idaho she also met her husband of 47 years, Harley. Following their marriage, they moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, where all six of their children were born. Jan taught kindergarten for several years while there.
In 1972 the family moved to Winnemucca so Harley could continue his association with Kracaw Produce. Jan started the preschool at Zion Lutheran church and taught there for several years. She became active in softball in Winnemucca and enjoyed many years pitching ball and meeting new friends. When Spare Time Bowl opened its doors, Jan started bowling. She became an active member of the Humboldt County Women’s Bowling Association, where she was named a member of the Hall of Fame and the Nevada Women’s Bowling Association, where she was named Member Emeritae after 10 years of service.
She also enjoyed traveling and was able to see much of the world over the last several years of her life. She worked for the RT French Company as a bookkeeper until it closed, then for Norm and Helen Burnett until their retirement. Her most recent job was with Michael Clay Construction, where she started in 1987.
Jan is survived by her sister Marie, son Terry (Janet) with granddaughter Kylie, son Scott (Andra) with grandsons Zachary and Jacob, and daughters Susan and Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harley, sons Brian and Kelly, brothers Raymond, Charles and Lawrence, and sisters Ethel and Alice.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always lived life to its fullest.
Services will be held Wednesday Aug. 15, at 11 a.m., at the Winnemucca Zion Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 3205 N. Highland Drive, Winnemucca, NV, 89445.
MR. RODNEY F. KUEHN
Rodney Fred “Skip” Kuehn passed away Nov. 16, 2007, at St. Mary’s in Reno.
He was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Aberdeen, S.D. Skip graduated from Churchill County High School in Fallon in 1965. He received a Silver Star in the Vietnam Conflict.
Skip is survived by his brother, Keny K. Kuehn of Salt Lake City, Utah; his uncle Robert (Cherie) Miller of Fallon, and cousins Renee, Teresa and Toby Miller.
He was employed by Newmont Gold.
Skip will be missed for his amazing sense of humor and love of animals.
Interment will be in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.
