MRS. MADELEINE IROZ

Madeleine Iroz, 73, of Winnemucca, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007.

Madeleine was born Aug. 3, 1934, in Valcarlos, Navarra, Spain. She was one of 11 brothers and sisters.

In 1951, Madeleine followed her husband Javier Iroz to the United States.
Together, Madeleine and Javier built and operated La Villa Motel in Winnemucca.

She was a member of Saint Paul's Catholic Church and a member of the Winnemucca Basque Club.

Madeleine is survived by her brother, Bautista LaPeire of Saint-Jean Pied de Port, France; son, Frank Iroz; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lianne Iroz; grandchildren, Chris Eastburn of Salem, Ore., Vanessa Iroz of Los Angeles, Calif., Martin Iroz of Winnemucca. Maddie Iroz of Reno; two greatgrandchildren, Lucas and Riley Eastburn of Oregon; niece, Maria Sablan of Fernley: nephew, Juan LaPeire of Battle Mountain; great nephew and great niece Juan and Maite Sablan of Fernley.

She was predeceased by her husband, Javier Iroz, mother and father, Ramon and Francisca LaPeire, and siblings, Maria, Pierre, Bautista, Manez, Graciana, Juan Pedro, Alberto, Anton.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Winnemucca on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, with a rosary at 10:30 a.m. and mass to follow at 11 a.m. A reception will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Paul's Catholic Church at Fourth and Melarkey Street, Winnemucca, Nev., 89445.
