This listing of the Winnemucca, Nevada cemetery has been compiled by extracting information from the cemetery list furnished by the City of Winnemucca and from photographs of the grave markers taken in 2007. The City list does not include birth dates, death dates or comments, these were taken from the photographs. Therefore you will find birth and death dates only on those entries where photographs were available and contained such information.

Also, there were some burials, evidenced by tombstones, not recorded on the City list and these entries will not contain a burial date.

Some of the tombstone photos are of poor quality, much as the grave markers are in the cemetery. I'm sorry for the poor quality of some, but I have little chance to rectify the problem. I live in Kansas and will be unable to return to Nevada for quite some time. This is a large cemetery located on the west edge of Winnemucca, S2-T34-11R and the coordinates are Latitude: 40.970N Longitude: -117.733W.

In addition to military abbreviations and state abbreviations, others used in this list are c/o=children of, d/o=daughter of, h/o=husband of, m.=married, n/o=native of, p/o=parents of, s/o=son of, ssw=same stone with, w/o=wife of, y-m-d=year month and day.

This is an ongoing project and I will try to add at least one alpha group each week. As of February 3 only the A through F surnames are posted.
