Mr. Garrett was a man who posessed in a more than ordinary degree the many fine human qualities that go to make up a complete and happy life. He was a devoted husband, a faithful father and a good friend and neighbor. He was a great lover of home and home life and to his intimate friends he frequently referred to the home comforts that were his good fortune. He got more than the average pleasure out of living by accepting the common, wholesome joys that came his way from day to day and making much of them. He formed a wide acquaintance through his business and social contacts and rejoiced in the good fortunes and sympathized with the sorrows of every one as they came to his knowledge.
