Riley O. Robbins
Biography


RILEY 0. ROBBINS is one of the prominent young attorneys of the Chautauqua County bar, and is rapidly gaining prestige and clientega in his law practice at Sedan. He is a native Kansan and was born near Yatss Center, February 20, 1899. His father, Levi Robbins, was born at La Cool, Indiana, in October, 1846, and spent most of his active life as a Kansas farmer. He died near Yates Center, November 15, 1911. Levi Robbins married Mary Jane Scott. She was born in Missouri and was brought to Kansas, to the vicinity of Fort Scott, in 1836, about the time the first settlements were made in that section of the state.

Riley 0. Robbins attended the common and high schools of Yates Center, and during the World war was with the Students Army Training Corps from October 1 to December 21, 1918. He finished his education in the School of Law of Kansas University, graduating Bachelor of Laws in 1922. He at once engaged in practice at Sedan, and in November, 1926, was elected county attorney of Chautauqua County. He was elected on the Republican ticket. Mr. Robbins is a member of the American Legion, has been amliated with the Masonic Order s!nce 1921, and with the Eastern Star since 1924, and is worthy patron of the Sedan Chapter. He has been a member of the Fhi Delta Phi college fraternity since 1917. Mr. Robbins is a Methodist.

He married at Pittsburg, Kansas, May 20, 1925, Miss Martha Potter, daughter of F. T. Potter.
